Surprise KC seized the top of the Margibi Sub-Association Second Division table on Saturday, June 27, with a 1-0 win over United Angels KC and another big weekend from Sando Kromah. The young standout pushed her home-run total to 10, a surge that has made her the most dangerous bat in a race that suddenly feels wide open.

The day began with a statement from Dream Girls KC, who stunned God’s Favor KC 4-0 in the opening match. Surprise KC followed by shutting down United Angels in the second fixture, a result that did more than add three points. It lifted Surprise KC into first place and dropped United Angels to third, a sharp swing at the top of the standings in the middle of the second phase.

For Surprise KC, the result was about more than one clean win. The Kakata club from Via Town Community has now strung together back-to-back victories to become the first side to collect maximum points since the second phase began. That consistency has been the clearest sign that the club’s rise is not a one-day burst. Founded in 2024, Surprise KC has already shown it can stay in the title conversation, and Kromah has become central to that push.

Kromah’s 10-home-run mark gives Surprise KC a game-breaker who can tilt tight matches, and the team’s results show they can win with force or restraint. Dream Girls KC and United Angels remain the main challengers, but Surprise KC’s current run has changed the feel of the race. Dream Girls, founded in 2025 and already trophy winners after their 2024-2025 knockout title, have the pedigree of a club that moves fast. United Angels have already proven they can win the biggest head-to-heads. Still, with Kromah in form and Surprise KC taking points in different kinds of matches, the league’s balance has shifted again.
