Swansea Ninja Warrior venue could become six-court padel club
Pure Padel Clubs Ltd has lodged a planning application to convert the Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park at Parc Tawe into a six-court indoor padel venue. The scheme would also add changing rooms, a reception area and a cafe, with one proposal for the site also including a bar.
The move would replace one of Swansea city centre’s best-known family leisure attractions with a racquet-sport club built around repeat play, a model that has proved attractive to operators as padel continues to expand across the UK. Parc Tawe has already become a destination for high-footfall entertainment, but the latest plans show how quickly commercial decisions are shifting toward sports formats that can drive regular bookings rather than one-off visits.
The Ninja Warrior site is still trading while Swansea Council considers the application. Swansea Bay News said the centre was operating as normal, and WalesOnline reported on July 18, 2026 that it would continue to do so until further notice, with no final decision yet made about the future of the venue.

That uncertainty sits against a relatively short life for the attraction itself. Ninja Warrior UK opened in Swansea four years before that July 18 report, arriving at Parc Tawe as a new family venue based on the ITV show and with expectations that it would create 40 new jobs. The opening was positioned as part of a wider leisure push for the shopping and entertainment complex, with the obstacle-course format designed to pull in families, groups and casual visitors.
Padel now threatens to take that footprint for itself. Six indoor courts would give Swansea a dedicated club-scale facility in a prominent city-centre site, and the inclusion of a reception, cafe and other hospitality space suggests Pure Padel Clubs Ltd is aiming for a full venue rather than a simple court conversion. If approved, the project would underline how padel is no longer just filling spare warehouse space on the edge of town; it is beginning to compete directly with established leisure brands for premium urban property.
