Tampa Bay Footgolf Club joins FIFG Region 1 under AFGL

Tampa Bay Footgolf Club is officially joining the Federation for International FootGolf in Region 1 under the American FootGolf League, a move that gives the Tampa Bay area another organized foothold in the sport. The White Tee Golf described the club as a recreational and social group, but the affiliation also places it inside the structure that connects local clubs to sanctioned competition and the wider FootGolf ladder.

That matters in a sport where club identity is often the bridge between casual rounds and recognized events. The American FootGolf Federation says it introduced FootGolf to North America in 2011, and FootGolf USA says the AFGL TOUR and U.S. Amateur Tour share one combined calendar. That framework gives clubs a clear route into competition, and it gives players in Tampa Bay a more formal path than a pickup match on a golf course ever could.

The timing also lines up with The White Tee’s founders-membership launch in Odessa, Florida. The White Tee website says the indoor club was under construction and estimated to open in July 2026, while its Instagram bio describes it as a private indoor golf club serving Starkey Ranch, Trinity and Odessa. The Tampa Bay Footgolf Club announcement ties that venue to an early core of members, suggesting the club wants to build a base around the indoor facility as well as on-course play.

FootGolf already has a scattered but active footprint in Florida. Miami FootGolf Club says it was established in 2015 and calls itself the only FootGolf club in the state, a reminder that organized clubs remain relatively rare even as the sport expands. FootGolf Florida social posts also show tournament registration and events in Tampa Bay and nearby New Port Richey, pointing to an existing player network that the Tampa Bay club can tap into.

The broader schedule in the United States underscores the competitive side of that ecosystem. FootGolf USA’s Nationals 2025 page listed the U.S. National FootGolf Championship for Kissimmee, Florida, from May 15-18, 2025, showing how Florida continues to serve as a key stage for the sport. With The White Tee building out in Odessa and Tampa Bay Footgolf Club now aligned with FIFG Region 1 under AFGL, the area has a new club identity that can carry players from social rounds into sanctioned events.
