Golf Costa Adeje will host the Spanish Individual FootGolf Championship and a World Tour event from August 7-9, bringing nearly 100 elite players to Adeje, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Local backing from IdecoGestion and Cabildo Tenerife gives the three-day stop the kind of institutional support that can move FootGolf from niche competition to a repeat destination.

Federation for International FootGolf listings identify the Spanish stop as "SPA 100 - ETAPA 6," while the Spanish FootGolf Federation said, "Ya está todo listo para la Etapa 6 del Campeonato de España" at @golfcostaadejefg in Tenerife from August 7 to 9. FIFG describes itself as "the world's governing body for the sport of FootGolf," and the Tenerife event sits inside that global calendar rather than as a one-off national date.

The field size is the clearest sign of the event’s draw. Nearly 100 elite players will put pressure on a course that already carries tournament credibility: Golf Costa Adeje has a FootGolf section on its own site, and it hosted the Tenerife Championship when that event joined the European Tour schedule in 2021 and was played May 6-9. For FootGolf, that blend of golf-course pedigree and sport-specific infrastructure is exactly what helps a venue graduate into an international stop.

Tenerife’s appeal is bigger than one weekend on the island. A World Tour date at a recognized golf property in the Canary Islands gives organizers a platform for tourism, federation growth and recurring visibility, while the Spanish championship keeps the domestic race tied to the same stage as the international circuit. In a sport still building its footprint, a venue that can stage both the national title chase and a world-level stop carries real weight on the calendar.
