Texas Wiffle Ball league all-star game draws families to Home Run Ranch

The Texas Wiffle Ball League brought its all-star showcase back to Home Run Ranch in Bells, and the scene was built as much for families as for players. Fans of all ages spread across the property for the All Star Game and Home Run Derby at 1724 Vernon St., where food trucks, snow cones and other ballpark activities turned the league’s summer stop into a full evening at the ranch.

The league’s 2026 schedule listed the event for Wednesday, July 1, at 6 p.m., and the date fit a pattern that has made Home Run Ranch one of the league’s most recognizable stages. Texas Wiffle Ball League says it was created to “revitalize the classic American game of Wiffle Ball,” and it bills itself as a place for both newcomers and seasoned players. That mix showed up in the crowd, where the draw was not just the competition on the field but the chance to make the game feel like a community gathering.

Home Run Ranch gave the event a setting few Wiffle Ball sites can match. The Bells venue serves hundreds of students from more than 20 area high schools and features a lighted turf Wiffle Ball field modeled after Fenway Park in Boston. Around that field, the ranch also offers basketball, pickleball, ping pong, billiards, fishing and patio areas, giving families a place to linger long after the last at-bat.

The league has been using the ranch as an all-star destination for years. Texas Wiffle Ball League announced in March 2023 that its All-Star Game would be held there on July 3, 2023, calling it a mini-Fenway Park owned and operated by Stephen and Lana Newton. A local social post said the ranch grew out of a youth Bible study started in the Newtons’ living room in 2017, a detail that helps explain why the site feels more like a hangout than a standalone sports facility.

A 2025 listing and a 2025 YouTube video showed the all-star game returned to Home Run Ranch again last summer, and the 2026 edition continued that run. For Texas Wiffle Ball, the appeal is clear: the all-star game is not just a showcase, but a recurring summer event that keeps players visible and gives families a reason to keep coming back.
