UFA releases 2026 playoff schedule, Championship Weekend returns to Madison
The UFA has locked in a playoff road map that stretches nearly five weeks from the first round to Championship Weekend, with 12 teams already qualified and home field still to be sorted out. The postseason opens July 24-26, moves to the division championships Aug. 7-9, and finishes Aug. 27-28 in Madison, Wisconsin, at Breese Stevens Field.
That timing creates clear breaks in the bracket that could shape recovery and preparation. Teams that survive the opening round will get nearly two weeks before the division championships, then another stretch before the sport’s final showcase in Madison. The league also posted final regular-season scores and standings on watchUFA TV as the 2026 regular season reached its end, giving the playoff field its final shape before the bracket begins.

The schedule means the first round will be compressed into a three-day window, with the opening games set for July 24-26. A separate WatchUFA schedule page lists those dates as the divisional playoffs’ first round, while the same postseason calendar places the division championships on Aug. 7-9 and Championship Weekend on Aug. 27-28. That spacing leaves room for travel and recovery, but it also stretches the tension for teams waiting on seeding and home-field determination.
Madison’s return as the host city keeps the title chase pointed toward the same stage that crowned Boston Glory a year ago. The 2025 UFA playoffs also featured 12 teams, with the first round beginning July 25 and the divisional championship round set for Aug. 8. Championship Weekend took place in Madison on Aug. 22-23, 2025, and Boston beat Minnesota Wind Chill to win its first title.

This year’s playoff rollout followed a 2026 UFA season that began April 24 after an offseason defined by re-alignment and player movement. The league’s schedule-release coverage also brought in analysts Evan Lepler, Adam Ruffner and Ian Toner, along with reigning MVP Tobe Decraene, adding a national-stage feel to a playoff bracket that now has fixed dates but unresolved home fields. Once those sites are set, the path to Madison will be laid out team by team.
