U.S. Open champions return to title contention in 2026
San Francisco Revolver survived the men’s final 15-14 on universe point, with Michael Ing making the denial and Anton Orme finishing the title-winning throw to beat Sockeye at Aurora Sports Park. The result gave Revolver its second straight U.S. Open crown and fifth overall, a reminder that the top of club ultimate still rewards teams that can keep the same nerve when the bracket gets tight.
That repeatability was the bigger story in Aurora, where the 2025 U.S. Open club champions, Ann Arbor Hybrid, San Francisco Fury and San Francisco Revolver, were back in the title conversation a year later. USA Ultimate held the 2025 event at the same Aurora Sports Park venue from Aug. 1-3, 2025, then listed the 2026 U.S. Open International Club Championships for July 31-Aug. 2, 2026, also in Aurora. The 2026 tournament counted toward club rankings, which made every round part of the regular-season ledger, not just a showcase.
The constant in that kind of run is veteran composure. Revolver did not win by reinventing itself in the final. It won because Ing and Orme were still the players making the decisive play when the game went to the last throw. That is the difference between a title run and a sustainable program: the core pieces stay intact, and the biggest moments still find the same hands. USA Ultimate’s 2025 social posts described Revolver as a back-to-back U.S. Open champion and a five-time winner in the men’s division, putting real historical weight behind the 2026 finish.

The field around them was deep enough to punish any drift. USA Ultimate’s 2026 event listings included Brute Squad, Molly Brown, Scandal and Fury in the women’s division, Revolver, Machine and PoNY in the open division, and Hybrid, XIST and shame. among the mixed teams. That kind of bracket does not leave much room for coasting, especially across a three-day tournament at the same Colorado site where every round demands adaptation to new looks and the fatigue that comes with surviving the same elite opponents again and again.
What Revolver proved in Aurora is that club ultimate still has a clear formula at the top: keep the core, keep the system, keep enough depth to absorb the grind, and do not blink when the game lands on universe point.
