US Quadball launches Recruitment 101 workshop for team growth

US Quadball added Recruitment 101 on July 27, a workshop built around the roster problem that can decide whether a club has enough players to keep going. The session sits inside US Quadball Sessions, a workshop series the organization says is meant to help teams grow on and off the pitch.

Recruitment 101 is aimed at the basics that turn interest into bodies at practice. Its description centers on three tasks: building a year-round recruitment plan, tabling effectively and starting meaningful conversations with potential players. US Quadball says the Sessions are designed for college leaders and open to anyone looking to strengthen a team, which places recruitment alongside the sport’s core operating skills rather than treating it as a one-time publicity push.

The workshop is one part of a broader Sessions slate that also includes Branding 101, Retention 101, Practice 101, Logistics 101, Fundraising 101 and Social Media 102. Branding 101 is framed around building a recognizable team identity that attracts recruits and engages a campus, while Logistics 101 covers tryouts, practices, tournaments, travel and USQ Cup preparation. Retention 101 sharpens the point even further, saying recruiting is only the first step and focusing on the welcoming culture that keeps players engaged after they show up.

That structure reflects a larger organizational push. US Quadball has already launched a Collegiate Growth Department to strengthen the future of the sport, and its College Quadball page invites people to join a college team or coach it. Its resources page says it is built for people creating their first team or entering a second season as president, a direct acknowledgment that clubs keep cycling through the same challenges as student leaders graduate and rosters turn over.

The timing is useful for college programs that spend late July and August getting ready for a new academic year. A session built around recruitment can shape the first contact a team makes with incoming students, from the table setup to the first conversation that explains what quadball is and why a new player can belong immediately. US Quadball also opened USQ Membership registration for the 2025-26 season, tying the education push to the administrative work teams need to compete and stay organized.
