West’s elite teams open 2026 club season at PEC Corvallis
PEC Corvallis will open July 11 at Crystal Lake Sports Fields in Corvallis, Oregon, with 34 teams across a sanctioned club regular season event in the men’s, mixed and women’s divisions. USA Ultimate has the tournament on the club calendar for July 11-12, while Ultiworld’s event page stretches the weekend to July 13 and lists 24 games for broadcast.
The venue sits at 100 SE Fischer Lane on the southeast edge of town, a 125-acre complex bordered by the Kendall Natural Area. Corvallis Parks and Recreation says the site holds 8-10 soccer fields and nine baseball fields, the kind of multi-field setup that can absorb a dense tournament weekend without slowing the pace of play.
The men’s bracket is the sharpest early-season test in the West. The 12-team field will be seeded with San Francisco Revolver at No. 1, Portland Rhino Slam! at No. 2, Seattle Sockeye at No. 3 and Denver Johnny Bravo at No. 4, with Furious George, Mephisto, Oak Grove Boys, Dark Star, Florida Untied, SoCal Condors, Lounar and Fungi filling out the draw. Eight of those 12 teams sit inside Ultiworld’s Top 25, which makes every pool game a useful measure of how much of the offseason chatter survives contact with live reps.
Revolver arrives carrying the clearest title proof of the bunch. The 2025 national champion beat Chicago Machine 15-10 in last year’s men’s final and returns much of that core, then added Brett Hulsmeyer, whom USA Ultimate lists as a cutter, a 2025 USA World Games player and a current club player for Atlanta Chain Lightning. That is the kind of pickup that can deepen an already dangerous line, but Corvallis will show whether the new piece changes the ceiling or just the optics.
Rhino Slam! has a different job. Portland brings back a majority of its corps and supplements it with collegiate talent, so the weekend will tell whether that blend reads as real depth or just roster optimism. Fury enters from the women’s side with similar pressure, after reaching last year’s national final and finishing second to Brute Squad. For both clubs, the first clean tournament of 2026 will say more about system cohesion, line chemistry and star integration than any offseason depth chart ever could.
The weather should help separate the real from the merely hyped. Forecasts call for mid-70s temperatures Saturday, around 80 on Sunday and light winds, conditions that reward execution and punish sloppy spacing. By Sunday night, Corvallis will have given the West its first true sorting of the 2026 club season.
