Wiffle in the Mitten crowns silver bracket champions across youth divisions

The Wild Cards, No Name and Kurveball Kings claimed silver bracket championships in Wiffle in the Mitten’s youth divisions, with a girls division also listed for players 11 and up. For families following the event, those results were more than a photo op: they showed a tournament built to give younger players and mixed-age groups a real pathway through the bracket, not just one trophy chase.

MLW Wiffle Ball staged the two-day tournament Aug. 8 and 9 at the Legacy Center Fieldhouse in Brighton, Michigan, and priced entry at $140 per team. The event was set up with age divisions for 10-12, 13-15 and 16+, and another post noted the games were four innings long, a format that compresses the action and puts a premium on every first pitch, short burst and defensive stop. Before registration closed at 5 p.m. ET on Monday, Aug. 3, an MLW X post said the field had already climbed past 90 teams.
