World Dodgeball Federation launches online coaching course for cloth dodgeball

Introduction to Coaching Dodgeball (Cloth), dated Aug. 20, 2025, is a structured online course from the World Dodgeball Federation for new clubs, teachers and community leaders. It gives them a self-paced path through the rules, equipment, sporting code and safe-session basics of the sport.

Introduction to Coaching Dodgeball (Cloth), dated Aug. 20, 2025, is built around background information, basic rules, basic skills and game ideas. It uses text, videos and interactive content, includes five downloadable resources and session plans, works on computer, mobile and tablet, and has no time limit to finish. It is designed to help learners lead safe cloth sessions and coach the sport in school and community settings at their own pace.

The federation has paired that course with a shorter entry point. Its course menu includes free Basics of Cloth Dodgeball, free Basics of Foam Dodgeball and Introduction to Refereeing - Level 1. The cloth basics module, dated Dec. 5, 2024, runs about 15 minutes and was developed by teaching and coaching professionals from around the world, led by a physical education specialist teacher and international dodgeball coach from the UK, and signed off by the WDBF Coaching Committee.

The federation formed in July 2011, drafted its first mandate on July 20, 2011 and its first ruleset on Aug. 10, 2011, with its first headquarters in Los Angeles. It supports dodgeball in more than 100 countries and across all seven continents.
