World Padel League lands Akcel and SpiceJet partnership ahead of season 4
Akcel and SpiceJet have joined the World Padel League’s season 4 partner slate as the Mumbai event moves toward its Aug. 12-16 run at Dome, SVP Stadium. The league will stage 11 matches with 36 international players and six franchises, keeping the fourth edition in the city that has become its Indian base after a launch in Dubai in 2023.
The sponsor list around this season is wider than a simple end-of-court branding exercise. Hudle has returned as the official community partner, Diago Academy is on board as official associate partner, and A7 Ventures and Jagadish Outdoor Media have also been linked to the event. SpiceJet’s presence puts a national travel brand alongside companies tied to community activation and visibility, while Akcel adds another non-endemic name to a property that is trying to look more like a full-scale entertainment package than a one-off sports showcase.

That shift is easier to see when set against season 3. The third edition’s partner roster featured Meteora Developers, Hudle, Dr. Umed Cosmetics, XRT and Enchant XP, with District by Zomato as official ticketing partner and FanCode extending its broadcast relationship. It was a useful proving ground, but the mix was still heavily tilted toward early-stage backing from developers, lifestyle brands and sport-adjacent services.
Season 4 looks more commercially rounded. An airline such as SpiceJet signals that the league is reaching for a broader audience footprint than a local niche event, while Akcel’s involvement suggests brands outside the immediate padel or fitness circle are starting to view the property as a repeatable platform. That matters for a league that now fields 36 international players and six franchises over five days: the audience is no longer being sold only as enthusiasts in one city, but as a market with enough scale to interest brands that need national reach.

The progression from season 3 to season 4 also tracks the league’s own growth. From a Dubai launch in 2023 to a Mumbai-centered fourth season, the World Padel League has built a sponsor mix that now includes community, media, outdoor advertising, ticketing and travel. The more that roster resembles a mainstream sports property, the less the league looks like an experiment and the more it looks like inventory brands plan around.
