Wrenway Park prepares for annual wiffleball tournament again
Wrenway Park had its official bracket ready, and the annual wiffleball tournament once again put the park at the center of a late-summer sports weekend in Wren, Ohio. The Wrenway Park Wiffleball Warehouse said, “The results are in - here is the official bracket for this year’s tournament,” and then followed with an update that included game times.
That bracket carried the kind of structure that has kept the event identifiable from year to year. A separate post said the final game of the night began at 8:30 p.m., giving the tournament the tight, start-to-finish rhythm that wiffleball crowds in Wren have come to expect.
The schedule had already been established in prior years. In 2023, The VW Independent reported on the 31st annual Wiffleball tournament at Wrenway Park, with an opening ceremony at 5:50 p.m. and first pitch at 6 p.m. That field included 16 teams, and a signup notice from the same year said officials would accept the first 15 teams that paid a $100 entry fee, underscoring how quickly the tournament filled and how seriously teams treated the spot.
The format held steady in 2024, when the 32nd annual tournament again listed a 5:50 p.m. opening ceremony and a 6 p.m. first pitch at Wrenway Park. By then, the event’s timing had become part of the local routine, with players and spectators used to the quick transition from ceremony to live action under the lights.
That local identity only grew stronger in 2025, when Wren was described as the “Wiffleball Capital of Ohio” and the annual event was pegged to the third weekend of August. An Instagram post from wrenwaypark added its own anticipation: “We’re more than ready for this view. August 16th-17th can’t come soon enough.” Taken together, the bracket release, the posted game times and the long-running schedule showed why Wrenway Park’s tournament keeps coming back: it is organized, compact and familiar, with enough bracket drama to make a neighborhood park feel like the center of the sport.
