Zion Harvey earns Women’s JUCO Top 40 Showcase spot for Itawamba
Zion Harvey has not played a game for Itawamba Community College yet, but the Lady Indians already have her headed to the Women’s JUCO Top 40 Showcase on July 10-11 at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas. Itawamba announced the selection June 30, and the invite places Harvey in a 40-player field that will put junior-college talent in front of Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, scouting-service and media personnel.
Harvey earned the showcase slot on the strength of her Holmes Community College numbers: 26 games played, 24 starts, 13.2 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals. The 5-foot-6 guard from Vicksburg shot 77.6 percent at the free-throw line, logged 756 minutes and finished with 74 assists, 75 turnovers and 43 steals. She shot 33.0 percent from the field and 24.0 percent from 3-point range.
Harvey signed with Holmes Community College in February 2025 after starring at Vicksburg High School under Troy Stewart, where she averaged nearly 30 points per game as a senior and helped lead the Missy Gators to the playoffs. Harvey and Cynia Johnson were Vicksburg Daily News’ 2024-25 Girls’ Basketball Co-Players of the Year. Harvey then committed to Itawamba on April 4, 2026, and her college résumé already includes two of the kind of games recruiters remember: two free throws with 48 seconds left in Holmes’ 60-59 win over Baton Rouge Community College on Dec. 4, 2025, and 26 points, including six 3-pointers, in an 86-62 win over Hinds on Feb. 5, 2026.

The event gives her four games, including an All-Star Game. ICC was in NJCAA Region 23 play in March 2026 and received votes in the final 2025-26 Division I women’s basketball poll.
