Shohei Ohtani is without a doubt the best baseball player on the planet right now. The Japanese superstar is shattering records and showing that he’s one of the greatest all-around talents in MLB history. But the reality is that he may never experience a playoff series with his current team. That’s because the Los Angeles Angels have wasted his talent and it’s a crying shame.
Today we’ll look at all the ways the Angels have mishandled Ohtani and his teammate Mike Trout. Somehow, they have baseball’s top athletes but still can’t make the postseason. No wonder their fans hate owner Arte Moreno and want him to leave. Check out all the shocking ways they’ve wasted Ohtani here.
Move Over Babe Ruth
Ohtani breaks records and one of his most jaw-dropping saw him pass Babe Ruth for the most home runs by a player who is also a starting pitcher in a single month. He achieved this remarkable feat in June 2023 when he smashed Kendall Graveman’s fastball for his 14th homer of the month.
It was a magnificent feat and shows his level of talent. But somehow the Angels still don’t know how to build a roster around him. It’s too bad Ohtani only has individual accolades because the Angels won’t compete anytime soon (via Sports Illustrated).
