16. Steven Gerrard
Gerrard was Liverpool’s most important player for a generation. He played for them through one of the toughest periods in their history. But he stayed loyal and dragged them by the scruff of the neck to multiple trophies. The Liverpudlian mostly maintained a squeaky-clean image through his tenure at the club. He never had flashy haircuts and was very much the family man.

But Gerrard has shady connections to the Liverpool underworld. One of his close friends was John Kinsella, a prominent local gangster. Kinsella helped defuse a situation between Gerrard and another gangster nicknamed ‘The Psycho.’ In the end, Kinsella died in a shooting in 2018 (via Inews). Gerrard and his family had the utmost respect for him because he helped them out of a dangerous scenario.
