There are always fights in baseball but not usually between members of the same team. However, when Papelbon is around there is always that possibility. Bryce Harper discovered this the hard way when they were teammates with the Washington Nationals. In fact, their physical encounter resulted in Papelbon’s hands around the younger player’s neck.

Papelbon wasn’t happy with what he believed to be Harper’s feeble attempt to retrieve a loose ball. He expressed his feelings to his 22-year-old teammate in a cool and calm manner. Actually, he did the opposite. The older man roared at Harper and then tried to strangle him. It wasn’t the most diplomatic way of inspiring his teammate.
