24. Howard Schultz
When Schultz became a leading shareholder of the Seattle Supersonics, fans were ecstatic. The CEO of Starbucks was one of the city’s most successful businessmen. As a result, fans flocked to the chain’s coffee shops in support. However, Schultz is a New York native and not a sentimental figure. That’s why he had no problem tearing the SuperSonics out of Seattle.

This irreparably damaged his image in Seattle. The only saving grace was that their name and color scheme were left behind. Schultz was a driving force behind the franchise’s move to Oklahoma City. On the face of it, this was a strange move because Seattle is a bigger market. He revealed his regret about the situation 10 years later. But that was too little, too late.
