20. WFT Adds William Jackson III
Washington joined the Patriots as one of the big spenders of the 2021 free agency period. Their fans greeted the news of Jackson’s signing with joy and schadenfreude for Cincinnati. “We are really about to have the best defense in the NFL,” one Football Team fan marveled. After losing Ronald Darby in free agency, they brought in Jackson on a three-year $42 million contract.

One of the NFL’s best corners for the previous three seasons, Jackson plays consistently. He started at least 14 games per season since his sophomore year after missing his first with a pec injury. A consistently disruptive presence, his ability to intercept is a great asset. Meanwhile, his age isn’t ideal considering the money involved but if it works out it will be a canny piece of business for Ron Rivera’s team.
