18. Giants Sign Devontae Booker, Anger Fans
Despite the limitations of their salary cap, the Giants threw an eyebrow-raising amount of money at Booker. The former Las Vegas Raiders back-up signed a two-year contract worth six million dollars. It’s a lot to pay for a running back in his position and needless to say, it confused their fans. “Worst run team in the NFL,” one Giants fan bemoaned. “Can’t believe we are doing stuff like this instead of signing good players.”

“He was a good backup for the Raiders last year,” another more reasonable fan observed on Twitter. “Averaged 4.5 yards a carry, but really struggled when he had to start so hopefully that doesn’t have to happen.” Effectively signed to relieve Saquon Barkley, only time will tell how this one pans out. But it is a questionable move when there were potentially more economical options available in free agency.
