30. Ruud Van Nistelrooy
Incredibly, Van Nistelrooy scored just five goals in his first three seasons as a full-time professional soccer star. He played in the Dutch league with Den Bosch but had a terrible start to his career. There was nothing to suggest that he would develop into one of the most feared strikers in Europe. But that is exactly what Van Nistelrooy became after a slow beginning in the Eredivisie.

He spent a season with Heerenveen before moving to PSV Eindhoven, where his career ignited. After scoring 77 goals in 90 appearances, Manchester United signed the Dutch international. Van Nistelrooy became a serial winner at Old Trafford. Then, he continued his quest for superstardom at Real Madrid. Definitely one of the best forwards of his generation.
