He scored the most postseason points ever and is the only player to win rings with three franchises. ‘The King’ is one of the most famous athletes on the planet because he’s unstoppable. Even as he ages, he still delivers on the court.

In 2021, he added another record to his list of achievements. The Lakers played Golden State on Opening Night. Before the game, Karl Malone held the record for most opening night points (463). However, James put up 18 on the board to claim this one for himself. Meanwhile, Michael Jordan sat in third place with 431 points across 14 seasons. This moment came in December against Denver.

It’s very difficult to break NBA records when LeBron James and Steph Curry exist. However, Giannis Antetokounmpo still finds a way to write his name in the history books. In 2021, he broke a 53-year-old record in the All-Star game. LeBron James picked Giannis as his captain and the Greek Freak repaid his faith. He scored 35 points from the field with 100% accuracy in a sublime display.

2019 was a great year for Masvidal. First, he secured a knockout win over Darren Till then faced Ben Askren in a welterweight contender fight. This is one of the most controversial records on this list. Hank Aaron held the career home runs in history with 755. But Bonds surpassed this in 2007 against the Nationals. To this day, fans debate over whether Aaron or Bonds was the better hitter.

Bonds continued to perform for the Giants as he set records all over the place. But MLB Commissioner Bud Selig refused to attend the game against the Nationals. Gordie Howe set an insane number of records during his storied hockey career. He played the most games in NHL history with 1,767 between 1946 and 1980. Furthermore, he was 52 when he played his final game for the Hartford Whalers. Nobody expected anybody to overtake him on the all-time list but Patrick Marleau did. The Sharks forward made his 1768th appearance in 2021 (via Reuters).

This was also his 44th game of the season. Marleau first stepped onto the ice in 1998 with the Sharks. Then, he spent a couple of years with the Maple Leafs before a return to San Jose. Next, he had a year with the Penguins before he rejoined the Sharks again. It was an amazing achievement because of his longevity. However, Howe played 419 games in the World Hockey Association in the middle of his career.

Stafford spent 12 seasons with the Detroit Lions before moving to L.A. in 2021. The Rams quarterback is one of the most efficient passers in the NFL and broke records from the beginning.
