33. Eric Mangini
Another diabolical Jets’ coach, the memory of Mangini still makes ‘Gang Green’ shudder to this day. He built up a reputation as the ‘Man-Genius’ as one of Bill Belichick’s assistants, before taking a head coach job himself. It looked like a great move because he took them to the AFC Wild Card game in 2006. Of course, New York lost against the Patriots as the master vanquished his apprentice.

Then Mangini took the Jets to back-to-back losing seasons and lost all of the optimism he created. Furthermore, he destroyed his relationship with Belichick by revealing the ‘Spygate’ scandal. Finally, the Jets sacked him after his third season. Things started well with an 8-3 run before the franchise collapsed and the demise set in. Ultimately, he overstayed his welcome by two years.
