Reportedly, Green Bay Team President Mark Murphy told Rodgers not to be the problem when he appointed Matt LaFleur as head coach (via Complex). Allegedly, Rodgers became too big for his boots and was trying to influence the next appointment. He never wanted LaFleur to be Mike McCarthy’s replacement.
However, the QB denied this and said it was one of the dumbest things ever. Rodgers said: “This was a smear attack by a writer looking to advance his career talking with mostly irrelevant, bitter players who all have an agenda whether they’re advancing their own careers or just trying to stir old stuff up.”
