Critical Thinker

Rodgers says that he is a critical thinker who believes in bodily autonomy (via Salon). That’s why he used ivermectin as a magical protection against COVID. The reality is that he is a hypocrite because he advocates critical thinking when it supports his perspective.

The quarterback is in an incredibly influential and privileged position because he’s one of the most visible people in U.S. society. That’s why he mustn’t be spreading misinformation. There’s nothing wrong with having a deviant opinion but he willfully spreads misinformation and lies. That’s why this was one of the dumbest things he said.

Hypocrite

Rodgers went head-to-head with Shannon Sharpe in 2012. He disagreed with Sharpe’s opinions about the Packers and made a statement that would come back to haunt him. The quarterback acknowledged Sharpe’s freedom of speech but also said that he was speaking from an uninformed position.

The quarterback said the following hypocritical comments (via Huff Post): “In this county, I think freedom of speech is a very important part of our culture. That being said, anybody can have an opinion about anything regardless of how stupid it might be, or uninformed.” The irony of this isn’t lost on anybody.

“Interesting”

There’s no denying that Rodgers is weird because it’s a fact now. The quarterback no longer cares what anybody thinks about him as he made clear in November 2022. The Titans defeated the Packers as Rodgers played poorly. However, the Cheeseheads didn’t take kindly to this and they didn’t hide their feelings.

They booed Rodgers and his teammates but the four-time MVP had a curious response. In the post-game interview he said, “Interesting, that’s the best I can give you.” It was one of the dumbest things he’s ever said because he didn’t take responsibility for his mistakes or try to appease the fans (via The Mirror).

Hard Knocks

Rodgers spent two offseasons unsettling the Green Bay Packers. This included months of flirting with the Jets before he finally signed with the franchise. Nobody was certain that he would sign the dotted line because he previously burnt the Broncos. Then Rodgers had the temerity to complain about the Hard Knocks program choosing the Jets in 2023.

I understand the appeal with us,” Rodgers said (via WIS). “Obviously, there’s a lot of eyes on me, a lot of eyes on our team. A lot of expectations on our squad. So, they forced it down our throats, and we’ve got to deal with it.” Rodgers created the drama and added it to the list of the dumbest things he’s said.

Jimmy Kimmel

One of the dumbest things Rodgers ever said and a recent headline dominating the news talk show host involved Jimmy Kimmel. Rodgers made the shocking insinuation that Kimmel had links to the infamous Jeffrey Epstein (via Deadspin). He said: “A lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, are really hoping that doesn’t come out.”

The TV host reacted furiously to this and threatened to sue Rodgers if he said this again. It also created tensions between ESPN and Pat McAfee. Most people agreed that it was a tasteless statement and that Rodgers was in the wrong. He crossed a line because there was no justification. Kimmel understandably threatened legal action if Rodgers kept spouting off on McAfee’s show. The fallout from this scandal remains ongoing.
