Russell Wilson is now a Denver Bronco. The long-serving Seattle Seahawk quarterback leaves after 10 seasons on the West Coast. Now he’ll move on to Denver and hopefully turn the team into Super Bowl contenders. Many analysts believe that Wilson will make a massive difference.
In this article, we’ll look at 20 reasons why Wilson can make the Broncos into Super Bowl contenders. It’s an exciting time for Denver but he carries a lot of pressure on his shoulders. Every team dreams of a franchise quarterback and now they have one. Check out the reasons via Mile High Sports.
20. Gave Up Little
For all the talk of the Broncos going all in to get Wilson, they gave up surprisingly little in the capital. The Seahawks received two first-round picks, a pair of second-round picks, and a fifth-round pick. Meanwhile, they also lost Drew Lock, Noah Fant, and Shelby Harris in the process. This leaves Denver with seven draft picks in 2022 but it could have been much worse (via NBC Sports).
After all, they gained one of the league’s best players in the process. Remember when the Saints traded all of their drafts picks for Ricky Williams? This could have been much worse for Denver and in the end, they came off as winners. Now they will hope that Wilson is the missing piece. They’ll look at Tom Brady in Tampa as well as Matthew Stafford and the Rams.
