15. San Jose Earthquakes
Somehow the Earthquakes’ front office sold Matias Alymeda the manager’s job in 2019. After a successful period in charge of Chivas in Mexico, the Argentinian found himself in high demand. However, it turns out that one man by himself can’t turn around one of the most useless franchises in North America. San Jose is historically bad and fails to offer anything to the competition.

Despite winning two MLS Cups in their history, they overwhelmingly finish in the bottom quarter of the league. California is a rare hotbed for soccer in the U.S. because of the massive Latin population and the success of L.A. Galaxy as well as the relatively new Los Angeles F.C. But this hurts the Earthquakes even more because there are better teams up the road. You need to win to make fans and the Earthquakes don’t.
