Giannis didn’t dream of becoming a professional basketball player because life was so tough. He worked as a street seller alongside his brothers in the dusty heat of Athens.
Many American basketball stars rise from tough places. However, they understood that the NBA is a possibility if they maximize their talents. There are scouts at every level of the game in the U.S. but Giannis never had the same exposure. Finally, when he came to the sport, his abilities spoke for themselves.
