There’s no denying that Tom Brady is the greatest NFL quarterback in history. The seven-time Super Bowl champion enjoyed an incredible 23-year career and broke records across the board. Following his insane comeback win in last night’s Super Bowl LVII, Patrick Mahomes is the only player of the current generation with the hope of challenging his legacy. But we believe that Mahomes will be better than Brady.
The Kansas City star has already enjoyed incredible success despite his short career. Today we’ll look at the reasons why Mahomes will be better than the recently retired Brady. There’s a strong argument that the Chiefs’ hero already is a better player but this is also about his achievements and potential following Super Bowl LVII. Let’s dive into the argument why Mahomes may already be better than Brady here.
A Stat Like No Other
Mahomes was down 24-14 at February 12, 2023’s Super Bowl LVII from Glendale, Arizona. That’s usually a bleak outlook for any normal NFL team, but not the Kansas City Chiefs with Mahomes at the helm. We’ve seen it time and again, especially in the playoffs, when Mahomes has been down double digits and stormed back to win thanks to an otherworldly offensive performance in the second half.
That’s exactly what he did against the feared Philadelphia defense at Super Bowl LVII last night, storming back to win his second Lombardi trophy and second Super Bowl MVP award. This season, Mahomes won the Super Bowl MVP award, the regular season MVP award, and led the NFL in both passing yards and touchdowns. Only three quarterbacks in Hall of Famers Brady, Peyton Manning, and Kurt Warner have achieved all of those individual accolades in their entire career. Mahomes just did it one season, and it proves why he’s arguably already better than Brady in terms of individual skill and execution.
