Marc Bergevin
Bergevin made one of the strangest career-defining mistakes in hockey history in 2000. He played for the St. Louis Blues against the San Jose Sharks when he committed the embarrassing error. Bizarrely he accidentally tossed the puck into his team’s net and scored at the wrong end.
It took a few moments for everybody to register what had just happened. The moment felt inexplicable because it appeared that he tossed it into the goal. This wasn’t intentional but the moment sticks in the memory of everybody who watched it. Nobody will forget Bergevin’s most infamous incident (via Sports Net).
