It’s easy to forget that Mahomes didn’t have the best start to the 2021 season after a Super Bowl hangover. However, he turned it around and is prospering again with a new quarterbacks coach. Meanwhile, the newly streamlined Chiefs possess a lot of motivation and want to prove themselves again.

Many poorer quarterbacks than Mahomes won Super Bowl rings and lived off this for the rest of their careers. But Mahomes has his eye on bigger things and wants to follow in Tom Brady’s footsteps. He’ll probably never win seven rings but he’s determined to bring the franchise back to the promised land (via Sporting News).

Some quarterbacks dream of moving to a bigger market after their rookie contract ends. However, Mahomes loves Kansas City in the same way that Drew Brees adored New Orleans. The Texan is very happy living in Missouri and has no desire to go anywhere else. The city adopted him and he’s grateful for their support during his best season.
