Sumo wrestling remains a massive cultural tradition in Japan. These giant athletes have to follow a very strict regime if they want to be successful in the sport. But an increasing number of foreigners are participating. Konishiki is definitely one of the pioneers for non-Japanese sumo wrestlers.

This massive, 633-pound behemoth was the heaviest sumo wrestler of all time. Furthermore, he’s also the first foreign wrestler to achieve the rank of ozeki. This is the second-highest honor in the sport. They used to call him ‘Meat Truck’ because he was so big. He even came close to becoming a Grandmaster.
