37. Michael Phelps
The most successful Olympian in history with a ridiculous 28 medals, Phelps was a force of nature. Of course, most athletes only compete in a single division, but Phelps still made the most of his opportunities. He also made fantastic use of his physique. If a scientist wanted to build a perfect swimmer in a lab, then Phelps would be the result. He had the perfect body for the sport.

Phelps had a wingspan of over six-and-a-half feet. This helped to power him through the water like a dolphin. The American superstar actually looked ungainly out of water because of the length of his arms. But he swam like a fish in the pool because of his fantastic build. The proof was in the pudding for this larger-than-life athlete. Will there ever be anybody like him again?
